Journey with Me into the Bs as I journey to The Bahamas

Thanks for joining me as I begin my journey to the countries that begin with the letter B.  My journey takes me back to the Caribbean, where I take a journey to The Bahamas.  If you recall, my first journey to the Caribbean took me to Anguilla.  If you're wondering why I've used the word journey so many times in just a few short sentences, rest assured that my frequent use of the word journey thus far has been deliberate.  If you had a chance to read the post on Anguilla, you can probably guess why.  As in Anguilla, they eat journey cakes in The Bahamas too.  Rather than repost the same recipe and pictures, I'll just take you back to our Anguillan journey.  The ship journeying to Anguilla leaves now.

O.K., I think I'm done using the word journey for awhile.  My trip to the Bahamas fell on Father's Day, so I invited my parents to journey there with me (sorry, I just couldn't resist using the word journey again).  Here is a picture of the prepared meal as it was sitting outside on my outdoor table.


Well, I thought the took picture was of the entire meal.  I was disappointed to learn that the only picture taken was of the sausage.  I did offer my parents more than just sausage and journey cakes for our Father's Day meal.  It was a lovely meal that included grapes, strawberries, seasoned potatoes, cucumbers, and mini heirloom tomatoes in addition to the sausage and journey cakes.

    Yes the pancakes were great her dad had them again this morning they heat up great in the oven. Sunday meal was terrific. healthy and the company was great Thanks to the kids. Love you two.

Pancakes = E Squared - I'm on to Eritrea and Ethiopia

I'll start this post off by saying I forgot to mention in my last post on Estonia why I skipped Eritrea and moved on to Estonia.  The reason for this was because I couldn't find teff flour anywhere locally.  Also, because the Eritrean pancake batter takes 3 days to ferment, and I just didn't have the time to do this, I decided to move on to Estonia temporarily. However, this weekend I not only had my teff flour in hand, but I also had the 3 days it takes to make these pancakes.  So I'm now off to Eritrea and Ethiopia.  I've decided to consider these pancakes both Eritrean and Ethiopian for many reasons.  Here they are: Eritrea and Ethiopia both make a bready pancake called injera. Amusing Things I Run Across in My Pancake Research

While I am still only in the A countries of the world, I have run across a few weird and funny things as I research each country's pancakes.  I shared one a few weeks ago when I talked a little bit about Antarctica.  Remember, I found a link to a fake (I think) Antarctica university that serves penguin in their dining hall? I started doing some research for my last A country tomorrow, and in the process, discovered these two videos.  They are by a person who goes by the name GiR2007 on You Tube.  I thought they were amusing, and I decided to share them with you as a pre-Sunday treat to some pancakes.  Enjoy!
